Thai Foot Massage

Thai foot massage is often more practical than body massage for clients, in particular the elderly, frail or even ill clients.

Thai foot massage is a massage of the lower legs and feet that is well established in Thailand, it has influences from Japan, Korea and China. This type of massage orginated about 2000 years ago.

Thai foot massage has elements of shiatsu, reflexology, chinese massage and yoga, all incorporated into the massage itself. It has also become an integral part of Thai massage.

Thai foot massage involves hands on stretching and massage, along with use of a stick to stimulate the reflex points which correspond to the internal organs of the body. These reflex points are stimulated to promote general health and wellbeing. To this day it is still taught and practised in the temples of Thailand. Thai foot massage can help stimulate the internal organs and can give the receiver a beautiful holisitc therapy session, help balance the mind, encouraging wellbeing and a good state of mind.

As I am also qualified in Hot Stone massage I do incorporate this into the the Thai Foot massage routine that I offer, mainly when the foot is wrapped. Having small warm stones between your feet is just devine (particulary in the dull and cold months).
