Identify Food Triggers to Stop Inflammation
Do You Know Your Food Triggers?
Many conditions that we experience today can be aggravated by inflammatory foods. Conditions such as:-
- PCOS
- Endometriosis
- Fibromyalgia
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
These conditions, and many more can become aggravated and more painful when inflammatory foods are consumed. Eating particular foods over time can begin to cause real aggravation to existing conditions and create new ones.
I personally have experience with diabetes and epilepsy so I can testify how finding your food triggers is so important to lead a better quality of life.
Dear Diary – Track What You Eat
Often the link between food and pain is a hard one to link and it will not be glaringly obvious. I always suggest to clients to keep a diary to track signs and symptoms. I encourage clients to list the following things:-
- Eating
- Drinking
- Computer work
- Stress levels
- Sleep levels
- Menstrual cycle
- Signs and symptoms experienced
Working together, my clients and I try and find some common occurrences. Often these are not easily apparent and it will take a couple of attempts working with the diary system in order to be able to determine a link.
What are Inflammatory Foods?
We will all be naturally resistant to some foods. The cause may not be obvious but more often than not certain foods will be what can aggravate conditions or may even be the catalyst of new conditions.
By helping to work out what your triggers are you will naturally be able to alleviate any long-standing or reoccurring conditions.
Inflammatory foods are foods that have had an artificial process used or added. These types of foods are often not be processed effectively or efficiently by the body.
The body will see such foods as a toxin and so this is why conditions may worsen or become aggravated by certain foods.
Examples of inflammatory foods include those containing:-
- Refined sugars
- Refined carbohydrates
- Processed Meats
- Artificial “trans fats”
Autoimmune diseases are notorious for being exaggerated by inflammatory foods.
